This Policy explains how Torama Global Services Ltd ("Torama", "we") collects and uses personal data across our products — Torama Vote, Torama eTax, Phidex, Otuburu, BibiTrust and the Situation Room. We process data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and applicable financial-services rules.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number, password and authentication credentials.
- Identity data — government ID, date of birth, BVN and bank-account details, where required for verification.
- Transaction data — wallet balances, transfers, funding, payouts and trading activity.
- Device & usage data — IP address, device and app information, and logs used for security and fraud prevention.
3. How we use it
We use your data to provide and operate our services, verify your identity, process payments and trades, prevent fraud and money laundering, meet legal and regulatory obligations, provide support, and improve our products. We rely on contract performance, legal obligation, legitimate interests and (where applicable) your consent as our lawful bases.
4. Identity & BVN data
When you verify your identity, we submit your details (including BVN) to licensed verification and payment partners to confirm your identity and enable features such as a dedicated receiving account. We do not retain your raw BVN beyond what is required to complete verification; we keep only the verification result and the limited identity attributes needed to operate your account and meet record-keeping rules.
5. Who we share with
We share data with our regulated banking and payment partners, identity-verification and KYC providers, fraud-prevention and analytics providers, and with regulators, courts or law-enforcement where legally required. We require partners to protect your data and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies
Our websites and apps use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure your session and measure usage. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the service to work. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
7. Retention
We keep personal and transaction data for as long as your account is active and thereafter for the periods required by financial-services and tax record-keeping rules (typically several years), after which we delete or anonymise it.
